Israeli Police Remove Evicted East Jerusalem Family`s Tent; Israelis & Internationals Aid to Rebuild
Circare Parrhesia - IMEMC - On Tuesday at dawn, the Israeli police entered the East Jerusalem neighborhood of Sheikh Jarrah to remove the tent owned by al-Gawi family, a Palestinian family evicted from their home.

The army shooting of Tristan Anderson: a flawed police investigation, no one to be prosecuted no one charged
Connie Hackbarth - Alternative Information Center - Att. Michael Sfard, representing the family of American activist Tristan Anderson, accused the police of conducting a "gravely negligent" investigation into the conduct of the soldiers who in March 2009 shot critically injured Anderson at a non-violent demonstration in the West Bank village of Ni`ilin. The flawed investigation led to the Israeli Ministry of Justice decision not to indict anyone in the case.

David Shulman: A Shepherds day in South Mt. Hebron
You know what you are doing is illegal, we say, the Supreme Court ruled in 2004 that the Army cannot declare a Closed Military Zone arbitrarily, and it is expressly forbidden to do so if this means denying Palestinian shepherds and farmers access to their lands. [officer`s answer:] Doesnt interest me.

Divestment Campaign at Carleton
Aidan Macdonald - ZNet - "Students Against Israeli Apartheid" embarked on the campaign after discovering that, despite Carleton President Roseann Runte`s assertion that the university "emphasizes human rights and social justice" in disposing of its funds, much of them are in fact invested in companies notorious as war profiteers, environmental destroyers, and being implicated in human rights violations.

`Lost tribe` on fast track to Israel - settlers seek to recruit Indian immigrants
Jonathan Cook - Redress Information - The Israeli government is reported to have quietly approved the fast-track immigration of 7,000 members of a supposedly "lost Jewish" tribe, known as the Bnei Menashe, currently living in a remote area of India. Under the plan, the "lost Jews" would be brought to Israel over the next two years by right-wing and religious organizations who, critics are concerned, will seek to place them in West Bank settlements.

Egypt`s Wall
Ursula Lindsey - MERIP - By highlighting the role of Egypt in maintaining the siege on Gaza, the Gaza Freedom Marchers put the Egyptian government in a distressing position (...) with demonstrations at Egyptian embassies in Turkey, Malaysia, Jordan and Lebanon.

Did Israel`s army target civilians?
J. Zel Lurie - Meretz USA - The government of Israel, which had boycotted Goldstones inquiry, was forced to take notice. The Goldstone report will not go away. It is anything but a vicious lie.

The antisemite who finances Zionist self-righteousness
Danit Gottfried - Walla [translation: Didi Remez/Coteret] - The Im Tirtzu movement accuses the New Israel Fund of financing anti-Zionist organizations, but all the while enjoys donations from an evangelist preacher who believes Hitler was carrying out Gods will

New Israel Fund comes out swinging against Im Tirtzu report
Abe Selig - Jerusalem Post - According to the Im Tirtzu report, 92 percent of the Goldstone documents allegations criticizing the IDFs conduct came from 16 Israeli NGOs that received some $7.8 million from the NIF in 2008-2009 alone.

UN find challenges Israeli version of attack on Gaza flour mill
Rory McCarthy - The Guardian - The official Israeli response the the Goldstone Reports asserts that the flour mill serving much of the Gaza Strip pupulation was not deliberately targeted but hit by artillery during fighting in the area. However, a UN team found among the mill`s ruins remains of aircraft-dropped bombs, contradicting the Israeli account.

From earlier days

This Friday`s protest drew 300 demonstrators, including Grossman and Meretz MK, Ilan Gilon. Unlike demonstrations in previous weeks, the police didn`t disperse protestors or make any arrests [following the court decision that they are legal].

Nurit Peled-Elhanan - Mohanad Abu Awad, 20, son of Khaled Abu Awad - the general manager of Israeli-Palestinian Bereaved Parents for Peace - and a peace activist himself, was brutally arrested Friday night, as part of Israeli policy to arrest Palestinian Fatah members and young peace activists so there will be no one to talk to, ever.
Orly Noy, Ir Amim spokesperson: "Barkat`s statements are mere lip service that is meant to legalize Beit Yehonatan retroactively, without offering a real planning solution to the chaotic situation that has prevailed in East Jerusalem for more than four decades."

Joel Beinin - The Nation - Haggai, a young Israeli man who was jailed for two years for refusing to be drafted into the army, addresses the soldiers in Hebrew. Showing them a hand-drawn poster-board map of the area, he explains, "You are not in the territory of the state of Israel and you could not do what you are now doing inside Israel. We are demonstrating peacefully on Palestinian land. You are violating international law. Don`t be surprised if, when you repress peaceful demonstrations, some Palestinians resort to violence. You can choose not to obey your orders."
